[Trump] will probably give Hunter a pardon...
Perhaps there is method to his madness.
Hunter is obviously a bad guy, but he is also no longer a political threat.
If Trump pardons him, it may facilitate Trump's effort to go after those who are still in power.
Accusing him of just being spiteful and/or vengeful will be more difficult.
Also, if some of the minor players feel they will indeed get less or no punishment, they may flip and take down some of the major players.
This is pure speculation on my part as I've not seen that theory anywhere on the web.
Trump is playing a high stakes game and I'm in no position to know when he is playing to his strength or bluffing.
I just have to trust in his ability and hope his tactics work.
