Yes, this actually happened. My youngest daughter, who is 19 years old, works part time at a yoga studio. She was working with the daughter of illegal immigrates and a single mother who is in her late 20's and still undecided. The Trump hater asked her who she voted for. She was uncomfortable with the question as not to bring her political beliefs to work with her. But, she answered. That resulted in a bit of a debate. My daughter (She's such a great kid) was incredibly diplomatic. When presented with propaganda, my daughter responded with questions about policy issues and presented facts. She held her own without allowing it to escalate, as the Trump hating child of illegals was pushing for. The single mother appreciated the gentle points my daughter was making. I'm quite impressed in the way my kiddo handled it and wish she'd quit that job and focus on teaching spin. My little dynamo plays ice hockey at an elite level, is preparing for college and working her fanny off. She is the most self disciplined, driven kid ever who doesn't expect a thing handed to her even though she grew up in what some people would consider privilege.
My take away on this? Who the heck do illegal immigrates or their children think they are? Their sense of entitle is astounding. What other country allows an invasion? Can you think of a single country you can enter into illegally and be rewarded for it? In the same breath, our government should have fixed this a long time ago. In 1980 on the debate state, Reagan and Bush pretty much agreed on a solution for illegal immigration but nothing came of it. In Clinton's State of the Union Address, he emphases the urgency of it but nothing came from it. So, here we are now.
