I've only experienced this in the making videos. From what I've seen or been directly involved in, it is important. The needs of the submissives vary according to the person and the situation. People on the set made sure to give the slave comfort, more orders, praise, whatever it was they needed. Most of my video work was FemDom/malesub. I did shoot a couple for a FemDom/femsub production house. Those scenes were the most extreme of all. They went for hours and required a lot of comfort and praise.
