I see the same things you do as far as how it affects the American people. Where we differ is that it is not about age. My mother was as on point as she always was into her 80's. Dementia slowly started taking my dad in his late 60's, as well as my paternal aunt. The issue with these people is integrity and intention. I do have to wonder why they wouldn't want out to retire as soon as they could afford to comfortably. People have different priorities, I guess. I walked away from a lot of money to spend time with family and enjoying personal interests. Maybe our bought and paid for politicians are beholden to stay in office...kind of like what they say about never being able to retire from the mob.
