People do get awarded for simply being in the camp. I don't like it either but it has been that way for decades. What can we do to change it? Sadly, nothing. I don't know if the allegations and admitted emotional problems are enough to disqualify him. I'd have to know the details. As for his qualifications, there doesn't appear to be many. Both parties have set a precedence of handing out cushy positions to the point that no one even thinks of opposing it.
As for you not saying anything here any more, that makes me sad. I like your input. People aren't going to agree on everything. We seem to be in agreement here though. I'm just more indifferent to gratuitous picks and positions.
