I never thought about this until this post appeared. For me, I was brought up by my Mom and her sisters, and went to Catholic grammar school with nuns. (No, never did get hit with rulers, spanked etc. by the nuns and corporal has never been my thing.) My Dad wasn't around, there were a few uncles, but women were the firm voices of authority in my early years. I kinda lived in a woman's world. I didn't get into much trouble, but I always seemed to be the center of attention for some reason. So following a Mistress' rules must be, on some level, natural to me. Also, with dominas I became a regular with and grew close to, they made me the center of attention. Yes, I follow Mistresses' rule and regulations (within reason) but I realized over the years is that in entertaining a Mistress a sub gets all of her attention. That seems to be a turn on for me. Is it a "kink gene"? No, maybe just a matter of circumstance.
