I go to munches a lot and I've met two people who had a similar experience.
One guy was at a spanking munch, just sitting there chatting, waiting.. and his 20 year old daughter walks in. They lock eyes, she looks mortified and she just backed off and went home.
He had never exposed his kink to his family while she was growing up. And though it was hard for him to deal with at first, he realized she was a grown woman free to make choices like this
Eventually, they talked about it and decided to split up events. She'd only go to certain things, he'd go to other things.
And then later I was at a kink party. A woman there introduced me to her son. He was 24 or something and had a slave girt who was his girlfriend.
The woman (mom) explained basically the same story. He (who was moved out to his own apartment) randomly shows up at a munch where she was. Embarrassed, son leaves, they talk about it and a year later they are at the same parties.
