The non binary push is insulting to people who are gay or bi. I'm bi-sexual, heavily leaning toward women. There is nothing wrong with that. It doesn't make me a dude. It doesn't mean non binary. People should own who they are and not apologize about it.

The problem I have is pushing it on children in schools and sports. If I may be blunt, did you need anyone to tell you that were gay? Would having a class about it in elementary school have helped?

I don't like what they are pushing in schools either. As for classes on sexuality, I will answer your question with a question. As a young man, did anyone have to teach you how to masturbate? What bothers me is the growing division over DEI and trans. Enough already. Nothing is going to change someone's gender. Everyone should just be who and how they are.

If I am understanding you correctly, I agree. Being gay doesn't mean you have to identify as the opposite gender. I recently had a situation at my family home in Ohio. It is a white picket fence community that is full of young families and a few retirees. The young person I hired to help with yard work is a great young person. I just assumed this person was a masculine female. Then I realized her mother refers to her child as a boy. The kid is so nice, seems to be well grounded and likable in every way. So, whatever is going on there, is none of my business. It is just odd to call an obvious female a boy. But, whatever, as long as people are happy not subjecting their children to mutilation surgery.
