Quote
Race-Based Internment

1. Calvin Coolidge (R)
2. Franklin Delano Roosevelt (D)
3. Herbert Hoover (R)

Correct Answer
2. Franklin Delano Roosevelt (D)
Correct Answer Rate 88%

Discussion:
In the 1944 case of Korematsu v. United States, all 6 of the justices who ruled that he could place U.S. citizens of Japanese descent into detention camps were appointed by Democrat Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Two of the dissenting justices were also appointed by Roosevelt, and one of the dissenting justices was appointed by Republican Herbert Hoover. As a result of Roosevelt's policy and his Supreme Court appointments, 110,000 people of Japanese descent, including 70,000 who were born in the U.S., were detained in camps with barbed wire fences and armed guards. They were allowed to take limited belongings with them, and some lost everything they owned. Despite this treatment, Americans of Japanese descent volunteered for a segregated combat unit to fight for the U.S. during WWII. This regiment became the most decorated military unit of its size in the history of the nation, earning 9,486 Purple Hearts, 4,000 Bronze Stars, and 21 Medals of Honor.

I didn't know but it wasn't surprising. It is interesting that the Japanese Americans accepted and was willing to serve in a segregated section of the military. Good for them for serving with honor and hard work, to the point of becoming the most decorated unit. That is the way to overcome adversity, not the nonsense we see today.

FDR was a big government commie. But, he put American citizens first in this situation. Look how the woke crowd caters to Muslims. A fanatic in England killed three little girls at a Taylor Swift concert to save them from the devil. It was a Muslim. MSM is trying to conceal the identity and reason but podcasters have gotten ahold of it.

Their service and sacrifice are indeed admirable.
I have my own (and darker) theory for their distinguished service record.
The opportunities and necessities for actions that warrant a decoration are in the most intense combat situations.
I can't help but think that American officers disproportionately ordered Japanese units to accomplish the most dangerous objectives.

It seems like the "woke" crowd caters to those who are most divisive and dangerous.
I can't help but think the whole woke movement is being directed and facilitated by those who want to weaken and/or destroy the US.
