Discussion: On February 7, 2001, the director of the CIA stated, "Osama bin Laden and his global network of lieutenants and associates remain the most immediate and serious threat" to the USA. Despite this general intel, the Homeland Security Inspector General (IG) found that "17 of the 19 September 11th hijackers were unknown to the intelligence community" and "recruited specifically" for this reason. However, the Department of Justice IG found that the FBI missed multiple opportunities to uncover the plot, amounting to "a significant failure that hindered the FBI's chances of being able to detect and prevent the September 11 attacks." One of these failures included a refusal to pursue a FISA warrant due to "a narrow and conservative interpretation of the FISA requirements...." In stark contrast, the FISA Court itself found that the FBI violated the law to obtain four FISA warrants to spy on people associated with the Trump campaign.
And the Democrats are ripping Trump apart for declaring that he wants to fully investigate such government agencies. If truth be known about all of them, we'd realize it is their dictatorship we are living under that they want to protect.
