I'm a big reader and I really enjoy books that include some aspect of BDSM play. Unfortunately most with a heavy dose of BDSM seem to be 20-40 page stories rather than novels. I much prefer something 250-300+ pages. In addition, 95+% of what you can find tend to be romance novels featuring some M/f kink. Finding books featuring a Domme and male sub is very tough.

As I've said, it seems very hard to find novels with a decent plot, dialog and well developed characters that also contain fairly eleborate/intense F/m BDSM themes and scenes. It's a fine line between this a badly written porn.

One author I can recommend is Thimble.....

Joey W Hill is more on the romance end of the spectrum but still decent. Some of her Vampire Queen books feature female Dommes and this "Mistresses of the Boardroom "series (non paranormal) is also F/m

Other decent authors are Lily Snow (sadly disappeared without finishing her serial story called "Breaking Josh")

and Sienna LeBrun (also gone silent with nothing new lately)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08QMQ5JHX?bin...0497&sr=1-1

Finally D L King's The Melinoe Project and The Art of Melinoe are decent as well. Love the trope of a resort that caters to dominant women and that is staffed with male slaves. (Ann Rice's Exit to Eden is a classic in this genre)

Mainstream kink+romance authors like Claire Thompson, Cherise Sinclair and Golden Angel can be decent but seem to only throw one token F/m book into a series of 10+ books with the others all being Male Doms.

Candace Blevins writes great (and very intense BDSM scenes) Many of her books are paranormal with heavy kink but her "Safeword" series is more straightforward human BDSM on the heavy side of the spectrum. Once again though, almost always M/f....although some very intense and inventive scenes.

I'd love to hear any other suggestions of authors I might be missing.

Thanks for the post. Usually there is an inaccurate undertone to bdsm reads that portrays us kinksters as damaged goods. I will have to check this out.

I didn’t write a novel, but a 10-part story on Literotica. It probably totals close to 100 typewritten pages. A story of loving but at times severe femdom marriage.

One of my things is erotica. Personally, a lot of times, I like written erotica a lot more than I do porno movies. Not sure why... Anyway...

This guy is FANTASTIC. His writing is excellent. Some of his stuff is a little... extreme... but... eh... Lots of chastity and pony play. Also, some of his stuff isn't Femdom, it's Femsub or... other... interesting variants of kink.

He publishes a few chapters for free and you can then buy the e-book for a couple of bucks on Pink Flamingo or whatever. Although there was some sort of shake up at Smashwords I think... And sadly it looks like Mr. Bellows hasn't published anything new on blogspot (I think that's Google owned) since March.

This is one of my favorites. A macho mercenary rebel soldier to the "Empire" is captured, stripped naked, shackled and about to be executed. Of course the woman Colonel killing the prisoners is a smoking hot Femdom officer... and of course he gets an erection... and trades death for submitting to being the woman's personal naked pony. Which seemed like a good idea at the time...

Oh and I like this person's writing, but a lot of her stuff is femsub. She seems to have the same business model - give away a few chapters and then sell the full e-book for a few bucks.

I was just thinking about this - I think I like erotica better than porno movies because in erotica, my brain can fill in the gaps, or can imagine the things I like in the things that aren't said.

I think good erotica will just use generic terms like "In her leather boots, she was a tall, very attractive, commanding woman, wearing a big strap on" and that's it. There might be one or two descriptors for her leather corset or something... but not much else.

Which leaves lots of wiggle room in the reader's brain. My brain can fill in the gaps with whatever physical descriptions turns me on at the time for the story. My brain automatically says "ooooh... she's a petite brunette with a very cute face, pretty smile, and really, really large breasts." Or "Oh she's a 6'2" smokin' hot red head with a nice curvy ass and neatly trimmed ginger pubes."

But in porno movies, you get what you get. Not a lot of room for the viewer's visual embellishments.

Also, I think erotica allows the readers mind to embellish the scenario - giant mansions on a tropical island with multitudes of naked slaves... or whatever would be glorious to look at, but well outside of any sort of realistic filming budget.

I never quite considered it from that point of view but I agree with both your points.

The human imagination can paint quite a picture. smile
