All three of my homes, Central Florida, Eastern Tennessee and Central Ohio, are mainly conservative voters. They are all rural, although I live in HOA communities in Ohio and Tennessee, we are still in the country. Most of my neighbors will be voting for Trump. Although, a small percentage will go Harris. I'm just hoping the flood of people from liberal states that moved to my town in Tennessee don't bringing their liberal voting habits with them.
One of my best childhood friends is a big Trump hater. I would never talk politics with him but see it on his FB page. He has done very well for him, retiring in his early 50's with 2 homes and a beautiful boat with a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. He's invested well and set up for a cushy retirement check. I'd love to know what he thinks of Harris proposing to tax the unrealized gains of all of these things he worked so hard for. The mandatory gun buy back position should have been enough to turn him off to the liberals, as he keeps a gun for protection. After the summer of riots, he and his husband sold their BEAUTIFUL home in a ritzy area of downtown Columbus. Crime had gone up so badly even after the riots ended. That wasn't enough. It is mind blowing that someone can be so programed that Republicans are evil that they keep voting for politicians that would would wreck their lives if their policy positions went into law.
Happily most of my friends and just about all of my family are conservatives. Of the liberal ones who are still talking to me, I stay far, far away from political topics.
