It is has been admitted that social media platforms worked with government agencies to censor discussions and accusations during the last election and afterwards as well. The accusations turned out to be true with physical evidence. Leading Democrats, such as Hillary and Harris, are calling for government regulations on all media platforms. Clinton has even suggested criminal charges against private citizens that engage in in what the government considers "Disinformation."

In liberal states, children can and have been removed from their parent's homes when their is a disagreement over the path to gender transition.

People are labeled and demonized for questioning the practices and results of an election.

Political opponents are taken down through the court system even though laws have to be changed to do it. At this point, some charges are thrown out and legal "Professionals" deemed unqualified. But, the damage is done and the message is loud and clear.

Talk is on the table about the government regulating grocery prices and restricting or eliminating the right to own guns. (Some states have long enacted the latter.)

Insider trading within the government branches has long been defended and accepted.

Liberal states saw tyrannical and unnecessary restrictions on personal freedoms during covid. It cost lives and livelihoods.

So...what do you think? Where are we on the scale of being a communistic country?

We've been there for a while. They are just trying to put the nails in the coffin now. Stooge waltz wants to eliminate the electoral college. In 2016 and 2020 not only did they cheat but they got by with penalizing people who protested the steal. Trump missed the mark with not going after clinton for the steal dossier. It was clear election interference.

When you go back the beginnings of the country, we've teetered at times. John Adams made it illegal to criticize the government. Washington was one of his friends and strong supporters. Even the draft was an act that doesn't reflect a free country. Think about what happened at Kent University in the 70's. What a harsh form of censorship. What is going on now is more of the same with an advanced form of resources behind it.

You mention restrictions during the pandemic. As a managing nurse, I worked in a hospital while it was at it's height. No one knew what they were dealing with. I saw heart breaking cases. People were dying from Covid19, be it from an exasperation of an existing condition or the virus itself. It was real.

Regulating grocery prices does not sit will with me. I won't go as far as saying it is a bad thing. Maybe it would work. From what I've seen, it self regulates.

So, I dunno know. It is a mixed bag of nuts. We'll know what we get in November and adapt accordingly.

You were on the front lines, showing up for work and giving care to strangers. I respect that immensely. But, please, understand, in various ways and to one extent or another, a lot of us were on the front line of the pandemic.

There have been numerous discussions about covid on MF and DominaMs. I'm not certain how much of that you saw. Basically, I understand that it was a horrible tragedy. But, also believe that it was a man made tragedy, probably by error or deliberateness, with doctor recommended treatment being thwarted by the government. There is a plethora of credible evidence and testimony to back that up.

We agree on government regulated grocery prices. We both saw the Chinese pull back on price gouging Smithfield bacon. Although I don't eat fast food or even at restaurants, with rare exception, from what I hear fast food chains are back peddling on inflated prices too.
