The Biden admin is more concerned with bashing a political opponent than addressing the needs of every day people. The Democrats have become like characters from The Hunger Games. Skip back to Clinton's last SOTU and it was, however genuine or not, at least focused on concerns and direction for the country. The direction the liberals are taking is so destructive to the American people that it is feels like a science fiction novel.

He (Biden) was basically some old man screaming at people to get off his lawn last night.....

Our government is an embarrassment...It's basically a fire sale now. We are bankrupted...(I think 35 Trillion in debt qualifies as bankrupt) and the politicians are stealing (looting) whatever is left......The Republicans as well as the Democrats....

Did you catch Rand Paul's interview where he line items some of the absurd things our country is spending money on, including studies on the sex lives of rats? Whether you like Paul or not, he makes great points. We are throwing so much money away. We are giving it away to other countries when we can't afford. It's no surprise the US is going broke.

And, yes, Biden's speech was an embarrassment. It basically revealed the state of the union is a government dedicated to division and self interest. Yelling is not strength.

I was disappointed. The Democrats need to do better than Biden or we will end up with Trump for another 4 years. I'm in the minority with political views here. But I agree about the speech. It isn't the message I wanted to hear. It has to be clear to them that Biden is not a viable candidate. In a Biden Trump election, I'm not even certain I can bring myself to vote.

So, MissMary, which candidates on both sides would you like to see running?
For democrats, I personally would like to see Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown for POTUS, with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer as his VP partner, but would be satisfied with a Whitmer-Brown ticket. As for the G.O.P., I'm concerned that the MAGA virus has infected far too many on that side to even begin to speculate about an acceptable opposition ticket.
As for Biden's March 7, SOTU address: I think he did a very good job, PARTICULARLY in calling-out his predecessor for so much of his subversion and incompetence.

Truly missing 'The Hang'...

Seems like a pretty obvious strategy to me when your opponent is Trump.

"We are throwing so much money away"..

Correction: The 535 Crooks are "throwing so much money away"......Our money....You and I are not the ones throwing away this money....

That's why I am calling it a fire sale....Every single politician knows we are bankrupt and they are ALL cashing in....They call this looting of our money "earmarks"....Just a nice word for looters......

35 Trillion in debt is the definition of bankrupt.....These politicians over the last 30 years stole this money.....I sure as Hell had nothing to do with it.

Would you ever allow any of these scumbags to run your business? Your business would be filing for bankruptcy within a year....

My choice would be Dean Phillips. He's a self made business man and carries himself as such, instead of a career politian. However, I suspect he's burned his bridges with the Democratic party after running against Biden. People are floating Michelle Obama's name. I like the idea of that because she'd probably win and we'd get her husband in the background. She doesn't have any experience but, she'd have a great advisor.

What is your take on Sherrod Brown and Gretchen Whitmer?
For me, Brown continues to find a way to constantly win in unfortunately now reddish Ohio, while Whitmer sounds/seems like the fair-minded fighter this Country really needs.

Brown is in bed with the pharmaceutical companies and he's in his 70's. Whitmer is attractive and charismatic. That is going for her. But the way she handled Covid hurt a lot of people. My brother lives in Michigan. He's setting himself up for retirement with rentals and house flips. Federal rulings on rent took a bite. Local restrictions that prevented him from renovating his new purchases or working on his rental properties was hard. She probably meant well. She went too far. It brought in her sense of judgement. I'd vote for either one of them if I had to. They wouldn't be my choice.
