Sorry folks, but I really have to post this about today's New York Times account of last night's Trump's Rome, GA talk!
https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/03/10/us/2024-presidential-election
For all of our non-subscribers:
"In a combative speech filled with insults, Trump mocks Biden’s stutter and vilifies migrants and others.

"Early in his remarks in Rome, Ga., at what was effectively his first campaign rally of the general election, former President Donald J. Trump on Saturday blasted President Biden’s State of the Union address as an “angry, dark, hate-filled rant” that was more divisive than unifying.

"He then mocked Mr. Biden’s lifelong stutter, a jab that set the tone for his lengthy speech that followed.

"Over nearly two hours, Mr. Trump lobbed sharp personal attacks at Mr. Biden’s mental and physical health and revived a litany of grievances against political opponents, prosecutors and television executives. He used inflammatory language to stoke fears about immigration, called the press “criminals” and repeated his false claim that the 2020 election was stolen from him.

"Mr. Trump told thousands of his supporters gathered at the rally that “everything Joe Biden touches” turns to filth, though he used an expletive to describe the result. “Everything. I tried finding a different word, but there are some words that cannot be duplicated.” (He used the word, or a variant, at least four times in his speech.)

"The speech that Mr. Trump gave on Saturday was his first since Mr. Biden repeatedly attacked him and his policies in his State of the Union address. “Joe Biden should not be shouting angrily at America,” Mr. Trump said. “America should be shouting angrily at Joe Biden.”

I apologize for the paste folks, but I wasn't in Rome, GA and this account sounds EXACTLY like former POTUS Trump to me!
Thankfully, at least the reporter was prescient enough to let 'filth' surrogate for the 's-word'

Have you listened to any of Biden's speeches from his Senate days? There is no "Life long stutter." Biden has been self serving, corrupt, lying plagiarist for his entire political career. He's failed us miserably as a President. There is credible evidence of the last election not being fair, be it by unusual voting circumstance or deliberate. There is nothing wrong with Trump exercising his freedom of speech. Many American agree with him. There is a valid fear of the masses of unvetted illegal immigrates pouring across the border. Accounts of 4 of them physically assaulting a police officer and being released with no bail, killing Kate Steinle, killing Laken Riley, living in luxury hotels free of cost, smuggling drugs....oh yes, there is a valid fear of this. Bill Clinton warned of it in his SOTU in the 90's. Nothing was done about it but lip service and infighting with our two party government system. There are real concerns.

Why not spend 2 hours and listen to Trump's complete Rome, GA presentation (I actually started to, but got too nauseated after about 20 minutes to continue).
One thing's for sure, the New York Times piece of which I pasted perhaps 30% is a precise depiction/quote of the scumbag's own words.
Have you (and F451) EVER considered that it's Trump's words that are what's terrifying?
Just in passing: Does Trump seem more like Adolph or Benito to you?

Ted, I have watched the presentation, in completion. I find the journalist's description of it, as well as your reaction, to be completely irrational. What he said was true. As far as dictatorship's, look no further than you own party. They want to restrict parental rights, remove kitchen appliances, control health care, send billions of tax payer dollars to protect other countries while allowing our borders to stay open, censor the media, weaponize the justice system, and selectively enforce laws. They are shutting down pizzerias in NYC by banning the traditional ovens. Yet, crime is soaring. Affordable housing is unheard of. Drugs and gangs are out of control. And, they are worried about pizza ovens? Hillary called for a formalized deprogramming of Trump supporters. Government agencies and committees have been caught engaging in fraud. And, you don't find any of this alarming or dictatorial?

1. Biden has tried to work with the majority republican House since the first day of his Presidency, but assorted, incompetent, recent Speakers are INCAPABLE of compromise.
2. If anteing-up for the ACA means 'being-controlled', your must recognize that that's essentially ALL that so many Americans have!
3. As for spending in Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan being a "wasted-protection: Review the 1930's Blitzkrieg's EVERYWHERE and WALE-UP; as for our Southern Border: The Senate and much of the House and President Biden put together a far-stronger plan the Obama's 2013 plan, but your DERANGED leader (that's what he TRULY appears to me to be for you), said "NO WINS FOR BIDEN"!
4. The DOJ ia NOT weaponized, it's just following, trying to mop-up the myriad CRIMES of Trump.
7. Finally: "Affordable housing is unheard of and Drugs and gangs are out of control WORLDWIDE, not just here, but REPETITIVE 'starve the beasts' HERE, amplifies it for us.
8. As for fraud: Ask YOUR Leader about the $billion+ that he THUS FAR NOW owes the U, S,f

Finally, as for you, you needn't worry about Hillary's formalized deprogramming of Trump supporters: To YOUR benefit, you're undeprogrammable!

You aren't very perceptive if you believe my political or personal views are based on what Trump or anyone else advocates.

Biden has not tried to work with the GOP. It is laughable to suggest he has.

ACA is a miserable failure that has wronged a lot of people. It has helped some but hurt just as many.

We strongly disagree that the US should be sending billions of dollars to another country. We've discussed Ukraine before. We won't see eye to eye on it. Why rehash it? The administration has allowed the border to fall into chaos. The Democrats welcome illegal immigrants. It is obvious for everyone to see, Ted.

The DOJ selectively targets and prosecutes. They may have called Biden's mental health into question. But, they have refused to prosecute for crimes they acknowledge he committed. Two tier justice system. The "Myriad" crimes that you claim Trump committed are drummed and contrived. if you took the time to read more than biased op eds, you'd know that.

Nothing is being done in this country to address actual problems that the average American faces. It has been this way for many years.

Trump is being railroaded because the DNC is concerned they can't beat him fair and square.

You can shove the programmed accusation. Because you can't think beyond an op ed and blind support of your political party, doesn't mean no one else can. I've openly disagreed with Trump on several issues, expressed disappointment and considered putting my support behind another candidate. It is policy before personalities for many people, Ted. It is rare that someone blindly supports a candidate like you do. You project when you accuse others of doing this.

Ted's Response: I'll ALWAYS respond to politicians that talk about LIKELY dispersal of American Active Duty Troops to "keep/restore" peace in MY (and your) Country!

Originally posted by Cheyenne: Biden has not tried to work with the GOP. It is laughable to suggest he has.
Ted's Response: What about the Senate passed Border bill that Johnson killed in the House because Trump ORDERED him too because he didn't want Biden to have ANY "victories"!

Originally posted by Cheyenne: ACA is a miserable failure that has wronged a lot of people. It has helped some but hurt just as many.
Ted's Response: Read THIS from The Atlantic:
Adapted from The Ten Year War: Obamacare and the Unfinished Crusade for Universal Coverage, St. Martin’s Press 2021.
"The affordable care act, the health-care law also known as Obamacare, turns 11 years old this week. Somehow, the program has not merely survived the GOP’s decade-long assault. It’s actually getting stronger, thanks to some major upgrades tucked in the COVID-19 relief package that President Joe Biden signed into law earlier this month."

Ted's Response: We both KNOW that Putin's move on Ukraine EXACTLY PARALLELS Hitler's European moves of the 1930's - Having served a decade as an Officer
in the Army Infantry. I can ASSURE you that we're FAR better off fighting Russia 'over there' in the Ukraine than in NATO countries that WILL DEMAND our Military involvement.

Ted's Response: The House has been STRUGGLING to Impeach Biden for 'unspoken crimes' for 3 years now; he has done nothing anywhere-close to the dozens of crimes that are on the Trump UPCOMING DOCKETS!

Originally posted by Cheyenne: Nothing is being done in this country to address actual problems that the average American faces. It has been this way for many years.
Ted's Response: WRONG: Biden has reduced the Trump-caused 'starve-the-beast' inflation from the 10% 2-years ago to the 3% of today.
Originally posted by Cheyenne: Trump is being railroaded because the DNC is concerned they can't beat him fair and square.
Ted's Response: I'm of the opinion that you and your ilk will be shocked by the November's upcoming Democratic wave-Election win!
Hoping that Trump FINALLY gets to look at 4 walls of steel every day of the REST of his life starting around the time of his Election slamming!

Ted's Response: You NEVER disagree with Trump on any thing Dear Lady! Moreover, you ride the SLIMY republican train DILIGENTLY on EVERY issue here!!
Like it or NOT: I NEVER "blindly-support" a candidate unless they're running against Trump and his FAILED, Inflationary practices and FERVENT support of today's World Dictators and condemnation of NATO! I personally need more than the fingers on my hands to tally-up my votes for G.O.P. candidates in my voting life; YOU Dear Lady NEVER even once used a 'single-pointer'!

" You NEVER disagree with Trump on any thing Dear Lady!"

That is a complete and utter lie. Let's start with this one and move on the other baseless claims you make. If you don't remember these MF conversations, then you need to get your memory checked:

Here is the short list of issues that I strongly disproved of and was quite vocal about it:
His VP and many cabinet picks, especially DeVos
His handling, or lack there of, in public education
Nothing significant was done to address homelessness in anyway
He warned the drug cartel he'd be coming for them "In 2 years," instead of acting immediately
He caved in on the spending bill, funding Planned Parenthood
He did not invite community leaders, such as Pastor Brooks, to the WH and address violent ridden areas in a boots on the ground manner
He, most certainly, should have curtailed the popping off offending people without reason

Benito Mussolini was over rated big time.....

But if Trump is the next "Hitler" then you might want to move to Canada.....

First thing he is going to do is deport millions of people....You might be on his list of undesirables....He will/should ban all media too....

Regarding: "But if Trump is the next "Hitler" then you might want to move to Canada....."

I had a friend that tried to emigrate to Canada when GWB was elected: Canada denied his citizenship application because he was over 44 years old; Canada had a STRICT requirement that immigrants be under 44 years of age and produce University-level degrees; so, so much for that!

Once again, I voted for Gore. You can't seem to accept that I was a true swing voter until the Democrats became so extreme. I also part with the GOP on several issues and believe both parties to be corrupt. On MF, I was excused of being a Libertarian a few times. While I do hold some of their beliefs, I fall short of that description when it comes to my support of social programs. Why is that you some folks, like you, need to label everyone?

So, before we get through the rest of the list, do you retract the claim that I blindly following whatever Trump says? You've claimed I've never disagreed with his policies or performance as President. I reminded you of previous discussion we have that prove other wise. Are you finally ready to stop dismissing my views as having been "Programmed?"

Ted, your logic in this claim is so irrational that you don't even try to defend it. The dismissal of people who have voted for Trump or like his polices as blind cult members is a tactic of the left because they can't reasonably discuss policy issues.

It sounds like she walked about from the Democratic party....and what did she gain from that? She pretty much lost all of her democratic friends on MF.

I tell you what, I will walk about from MAGA, as soon as they start promising:
"We will tax the rich more..."
"Equal pay for women and minorities...."
"free healthcare for all...."
"free college for all....."

As soon at MAGA starts promising the same sh$% the democratic party has been "promising" for the last 60 years, then, maybe, i will leave MAGA.

1. His year-after-year policy of running an annual $2.5T budget deficit by spending $6.5T while taking in $4T, represented his "GREAT economy" that MAGAs thrill over;
2. COVID-19 still has NOT vanished as he predicted it would, but over 1 million Americans coincidentally have;
3. Happily, Biden restored our good standing with NATO that Trump destroyed virtually single-handedly;

NO!
I.m back, and continue to remain on this:
"There is nothing wrong with Trump exercising his freedom of speech. Many American agree with him. There is a valid fear of the masses of unvetted illegal immigrates pouring across the border."

1. "Exercising free speech doesn't mean degrading his colleagues and adversaries, cursing out his opponent POTUS and alluding to Hitler talk of "poisoning the blood" and ORDERINg his WEAK-kneed SOTH not to fund Ukraine - - If Trump comes close to the White House. there will be my Military Colleagues be EXCEPT shedding their blood in Poland and Latvia?
2. Bjden had given republicans EVERYTHING the want on immigration, BUT Trump said: "I refuse to give Biden any victories in this Election Cycle" ; KILL IT MR> Speaker.
3. Sorry Lady, I put m a decade as an Infantry Lieutenant and Captain interrupting my Education and Social Life; I finally gave up when I had 4 kids to raise, a FULL TIME job and horrendous International travel schedules - - -
4. ONE THING'S FOR SURE, when our Infantry takes action, it does so in split SECONDS, not 2-3 hours like the Uvalde DISGUSTING COWARDLY human beings. - - PLEASE allow me to inject a name that I was called hundreds of time in my BHronx Spanish Harlem neighborhood "fucking faggots"!

SORRY, it is TOTALLY unheard that a candidate for POTUS to spout off the CRAP that he does DAILY in his MAGA "rallies"!

On the topic: I believe that Biden handled his stutter quite well, everything else being equal.
For whatever reason, I didn't see his SOTU as "desperate".
For the life of me, I simply can't see his "wrong"; what I did see is someone who knows that he's in for a battle in November. As for a "stolen 2020 Election", SORRY, I don't agree WHATSOEVER of his claim that ACTUALLY tears directly at the heart OUR Democracy. Finally, as for the "press being criminal". if nothing else, I.m DAILY PO'd at the NY Times for treating Trump more than fairly and giving him too much slack!

Public speakers DO develop mannerisms. It is an effort to avoid them.

Link words are fun as well. Uuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmm is a sign the speaker is making things up as they go along and need time to think.

For me if you over look what is actually being said, Mr Trump has a horrid delivery style.
Mr Biden has an annoying habit of repeating what he says.

After the election I hope the country has more friends that Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, Turkey....

Apparently Trump believed it sufficiently to mock it!

FWIW, it's discussed in multiple places online:

This is absolute bunk. As an adult, he has never been heard stuttering. He is slow to speak now and, understandably so. But as a Senator and VP, it never happened. Are you truly gullible enough to believe this media machine cover his bum bs? Watch his older speeches. Watch the ones from the times he ran for presidency, only to be shut down because he was caught lying about his life. You won't find a stutter.

You say this while supporting Biden, who has proven himself, since his Senate days to be an openly bold liar and scam artist. I presented you with information when you asked for it. You didn't respond and probably didn't didn't even take the time to look into it beyond what you could find in the leftwing media publications.

Instead of rehashing this same debate. What do you think of a new, fresh topic? Hmmmm....what is a current issue that we can discuss without getting into the same old this one is bad and that one is good?
