Why are only a few select media outlets reporting on the horrible things in the bill? Why does our country put up with holding the country hostage with threat of a government shut down if outrageous bills aren't passed? I can't understand why people put up with this. I hope that Trump's team is very vocal and specific about what was in that bill. The majority of Americans would be outraged. Funding gain of function? Bringing back vax mandates? Putting Congress above the law and giving them a raise? They have a 12% approval rating! If any of us had that from our employer, we'd be fired...certainly not getting a raise and special privileges.

My wish for the coming new year is that people open their eyes to the corruption we've allowed to occur in our government and, for the love of God, kick Speaker Johnson to the curb. Anyone who would advocate for that bill deserves a special place in hell.

Donald Trump now has egg on his face and made two bad decisions yesterday.....First he backed the plan B bill and it was defeated.. Second he gave a FULL endorsement of Mike Johnson yesterday....

And Trump is not even in office yet.. I am telling you right now like I have been saying for months....Trump makes a lot of bad decisions... He also bashed the 38 Republicans who voted no to the bill...

Take a look at those 38 names, you will notice some big time maga supporters on that list..Including Lauren Boebert..

It's horrifying that Trump would endorse a man who wanted to pass that bill. Kennedy Jr. is probably upset about it too. Maybe that is why he has been quiet as of late.

Our money is in the bill.. Which has been looted by these 535 pirates who want to give themselves a $60,000 raise each....

Our money which will increase our national debt a few trillion more is in the bill....

We have a "debt ceiling" (thats like a cap on your credit card) that expires on Jan 1st..(next week).....The pirates (Pushed by Trump) want to extend the "debt ceiling" (similar to getting a credit increase on your credit card) so they can spend more of OUR MONEY on shit they want to buy...

Let me put this debt ceiling another way...The credit card that you have has a $10,000 limit (which you have maxed out) you continue to make ONLY the minimum payment each month of $60.. This basically cover the interest only but your $10,000 debt still remains...

Now you wanna go out and buy a swing set for your kids but you dont have the money... So you ask the bank to increase your card to $20,000....They grant you the increase and you continue to make only the minimum payment on $20,000 now....With no hopes of ever paying it off...(unless you live to 150 years old)

That is about as simple as I can explain this....

Trump is WRONGLY endorsing this because he doesnt wanna have to deal with it on Jan 20th...

So the whole idea by Trump/Musk of getting rid of wastefull spending was ALL bullshit...

In other words Trump lied to get elected... (ie: Trump has become a politician)

But dont take my word for it...

The reason why most people (and especially Trump supporters) dont understand whats going on or whats in the bill is because they are used to being lied to... They have become accustomed to the lies..

And most will NOT accept the fact that Trump has become one of them..

Word has it the original bill secretly conspired and pushed with Mike Johnson, Mitch McConnell at the helm had this written into the language..

Obviously, the shorter bill is better. I can't find through Google, exactly what was in Trump's Plan B. A friend told me that according to an X post that it stripped away anything objectionable and the only pork was the molasses study. But, who knows if that is accurate. I'd like to think so.

I'd like to see Johnson kicked out and not given a second chance. The statement is disappointing but it sounds more like a warning than a ringing endorsement.

Yes that is the quote. (The most recent endorsement of Johnson) but Trump has endorsed Johnson dozens of times over the past few months.. Trump either doesnt know what he is doing or he is purposely making the same exact mistakes he made during his first term..

They WONT be able to get rid of him when they vote for the speaker of the house in a couple of weeks.....The Democrats WILL make a deal with him in return for their voting for him.... So no matter how many Republicans vote against Johnson, he will still become Speaker of the house....

People forget how important a position this is.. Speaker of the house is not third in line to the Presidency for nothing.... And when this happens there goes Trumps mandate.. There goes the will of the people again...Watch..Its coming...

I can relate to everything you are saying. The bill Johnson was pushing was so egregious, he should have been bounced out on his ear. If your neighbor bashed in the windows of your car, you wouldn't politely ask him not to do it again and then have him over for a bbq.

Where we differ on your post is that it matters how wealthy Trump and Musk are. They are self made business men, not a typical politian that went into "Public service" and became a multi millionaire. I want someone who has been highly successful running our country. I do believe their intentions are to make America great again...or, at least, a lot better than it is now.

I am telling you right now that Trump is NOT a self made business man who made billions on his own either....

First off he inherited tens of millions (probably 100 million) to start off with....

Secondly, nobody has used the political system and politicians better than Trump over the past 50 years.... He has 50 years worth of experience of giving kick back and bribe money to these politicians...

Trump would not have been able to build one building without soaking up to politicians...

The fact that Trump calls himself a "Non Politician" is a complete and total lie...Trump is in fact the ultimate politician.. Trump has ALWAYS played both sides of the political field for his own benefit...

Trump is responsible for Johnson still being there..

He campaigned for Johnson at his rallies and told everyone in his state to vote for him....Trump spoke and the people of Johnsons home state did as they were told...Johnsons home state is Louisiana which is about 99% Trump country...

I've never heard the Trump grew up as a poor kid story. Anyone who believes that is outright stupid. It is common knowledge that he grew up in wealth. All the same, he made his own way and grew the wealth. At one point...maybe in the 80's, perhaps, the 70'....he had made some bad financial decisions and turned out to the be the come back kid. I don't blame him, at all, for donating to the campaign funds of both parties. He openly said that is what it takes to get things done as a business man. Our government is a mafia. I also don't blame him or Musk for taking advantage of government plans that are available to anyone wise enough to use them.

This being said, I couldn't bring myself to take out a PPE covid loan or even cash one of their checks. They deposited money into an account that I had paid my taxes from at point of our dysfunctional throwing money around. Aside from that, I couldn't bring myself to do partake. I feel like an idiot over that. Between the PPE and money they were throwing around, I probably left 80k unclaimed and am now paying for it in the inflation it caused. Even today, I couldn't bring myself to cash in on the demise of our country. The IRS owes me 23k that I will probably never see. I hate our government so badly. But, I do understand the people who put common sense above principal. Wish I could.

Here is the hard truth about Donald J. Trump. The only things in life that this man cares about are his wealth, his material things (talks about that Florida mansion a million times), hanging out and being accepted by other rich/famous people and looking good with his third trophy wife. My point that Trump was self made before entering Washington, wasn't about how or his deserving the boyscout's medal of honor. He didn't go to DC to enrich himself like the career politicians that go in with a networth in the mid six figures and come out with, at least, one zero behind. It is For whatever reason, the same with Musk.

Do you really care if he is into beautiful women? Personally, I didn't find his first wife that attractive. But, so what? I don't care what the motivation is behind Trump or Musk. I care about the results for the American people. For whatever reason they may have, I believe their goal is to make this country as good as it can be. Is this out of ego and and pride? Are they bored and want a new venture to conquer? Do they crave attention? Does Musk want to have another dozen children and set their wives up in mansions? I don't really care. I just want our country straightened out.

Additionally, I hate some of the things that Trump did in his first term. Operation Warp Speed was horrible. Not having the gain of function shut down and Faucci fired before it could happen was catastrophic. Putting a socialite in charge of education who proceeded to ignore the needs of inner city youth was a big disappointment. The list goes on. But, like you, when I line it up with what could have been, I'd take the whole package 10 times over.

Trump just hired the creator of the Apprentice for an ambassadorship....Some Hollywood guy...

I noticed he picked another socialite for Education. But, I like her background in education. Time will tell. I want to see someone that will put boots in the ground in impoverished districts. Imagine the difference it could make to have good schools that are set up with additional programs for children who are not getting parental support at home.

Trump is going to make money in any environment he is in. I don't begrudge him that. Instead of waiving his salary, I'd like to see him donate it.

From what I've seen of Melania, I think she's great. She holds herself with grace and dignity. I love the fact that she was cussing up a storm over being put in charge of Christmas lights when she wanted to go to the border and access the situation with the children who had been separated from their parents. The media went after her using the F word on a private phone call, which made them look stupid. Baron was speaking three languages by the time he was eight years old. She speaks six herself. In any case, it really doesn't matter what anyone thinks of her as a person. She could be a stone cold bi*ch and it wouldn't matter if she got things done. I'd like to see her more involved in causes for children and, more than in the typical superficial way most first ladies have been.

So, Trump brags a lot. It is understandable that it bothers you. It probably annoys a lot of people. I don't care. Again, what matters to me are results. We'll have to wait and see how this all works for the American people. We certainly had it better when he was in office, for the most part.
