I'm glad you got off with a scum bag trying to take $1,500. from you. My experience with South Florida estate attorneys were far worse. My late husband's children had a fiduciary, who had a great reputation, but was obviously in cognitive decline end up giving us $250k to make up for the mistakes that he made. He cost us so much money. We had to sign a non disclosure with him. My son in law is a very talented estate attorney but felt uncomfortable handling Jack's will. So, hiring it out was a mess. The legal fees were crazy and then the accountant left the firm and the taxes were late. The IRS owes still me 23k that I will never see without hiring a tax attorney. Even then, it is a gamble.

The attorney who did Jack's estate planning made huge mistakes in the will before all of that. Jack's children actually hired another firm to deposition the guy. I almost lost a house over it! It was my best friend, who is a business and diesel engineer major who found the error! It took a minute for his kids to realize that I knew nothing of his botch job. I still want to file a bar complaint against the original attorney, against the doof. But, again, once going through a traumatic even, all I could to do is leave it behind.

Then there are criminal attorneys who drag cases on, knowing they will plead everyone out. I've seen this happen to young people with non serious charges they should have never fought to begin with but got egged on by the greedy attorney. Scum bags. They have an associate show up for a hearing date, knowing full well they will ask for a continuance and bill the client for the time, as many times as possible.

Being a skilled attorney, as you are, is one of the best things you can do for self protection. I respect that you have a different view on this. But, in my experience, most attorneys are scum bags. Certainly not all are. I know some good ones. When I was in my 30's, I was engaged to and living with a Senior partner of a law firm who was a fantastic man. He was absolutely ethical. Even after we broke up, we stayed good friends. He is another one who retired early because litigation law was wearing on him.

So, all of that to say, if Pam Bondi is a typical self serving, do what she's paid to do type of attorney, non of us should be surprised. Most of them are prostitutes. For a hire hourly rate, they will do whatever their client wants.
