The race hustlers used the MSM to make it a factor.
All of the evidence supported Zimmerman's account.
Professional law enforcement verified his account and closed the case.
Then the race baiters stepped in.
In order to reopen the case, they had to claim Martin was profiled.
They did so and enlisted the MSM to paint Martin as a saintly child and Zimmerman as a racist vigilante.
They convinced millions and they held rallies or memorials with hoodies as a symbol of racial profiling.
Many went to these events so show support for this "innocent child" and in doing so, they contributed to cementing the relationship of blacks to hoodies as solidly as southern whites did with watermelons.
Because they sold this narrative, political pressure allowed charges to be brought against Zimmerman based on emotion, not facts.
I'll repeat the part of the quote that set me off:
Knowing it was a case of self-defense, she [Pam Bondi] appointed a corrupt special prosecutor and arranged for two biased, corrupt judges — one was so obvious he was disqualified -- who did their best to convict Zimmerman. She enabled the race hustlers that destroyed George Zimmerman’s life and plunged America into a racial morass from which it has not yet recovered. At the time, she basked in that destructive glory.
It's important because it laid the groundwork for repeat performances (e.g. Michael Brown, George Floyd).
