This is so interesting because Trump's got to know he won't get confirmed. Your explanation in other post here is plausible. It has also been floated that he wants to see with GOP members he can trust to support him. Fetterman called it God tier trolling. That is kind of funny if you think about it. We're better off without the games but a little fucking around with the Dems is harmless.
Trump definately knows Gaetz cant get confirmed. So yeah this is some kind of game he is playing...
For the record I am fine with Gaetz being AG....He will go after everybody and everything....Just how in the hell he gets confirmed is the big question...
Trump could get him in there if he uses something called a "Recess Appointment"....Where no confirmation would be required while both houses are on recess....But he would need both houses to agree to go on recess..

Lets say the Senate GOP members dont want to go on recess (and it has to be at least 10 days)....
There is a loophole that Mike Johnson can use....He can call for a recess even though the Senate does NOT agree....Trump as President can OK Mike Johnsons motion for recess...Therby allowing Trump to ram all his nominations in...Including/Especially Gaetz and probably RFK and Tulsi too...
Btw,
Clinton and GWB installed hundreds of their nominations through Recess Appointments. (Nobody as high in the cabinet as AG though)...
Obama only got about 23 in through the recess appointment clause...But they changed the rule during Obamas Presidency. (Requiring the recess for 10 days)....In fact Obama got sued for one of his recess appointments because the two chambers were NOT on recess for the rquired 10 days..
