Did Matt Gaetz just get away with that allegation of bringing teen girls across state lines? Guess that just magically disappeared... I know there is/was an ongoing ethic investigation. Just asking.

I am just looking 5 miles down the road (as always) regarding Matt Gaetz....Only because I know he has that teen sex thing hanging over his head with the DOJ....

So when I heard this nomination news my first thought was how the HELL is Trump gonna get this guy confirmed......

I am just worried about these swamp bastards controlling the Senate and House.....They just made this Bastard Thune the Senate Majority leader...And I sure as Hell dont trust the Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.....

As far as Gaetz goes, he is definately mad dog crazy enough to go after all of them....But getting confirmed is the real problem..

Well, you def have more insight than me, but I try and put my two cents in when I can with the little I know, or think I know. Ha! Anyway, you make some good points, 5 miles down the road with Gaetz and other things. I haven't been on here in a while, but I'm glad we are here in Nov and he won. Yes, I say it again. I know some folks, friends of mine who are feeling very relieved and good. Again, we'll have to see how it goes. Maybe I'm being a bit naive, but this may perhaps be a poltical revolution of sorts. I hope so. We need a full overhaul!
That Matt Walsh clip is good that I just posted and do yourself a favor, check out his latest comedy/documentary, "Am I Racist?" It's very funny and gratifying to watch. Matt is very dry, I find that kind of humor funny a lot of times. If you watch it, let me know what you thought. That goes for anyone else reading this.

Here is a little tidbit I found re: Gaetz....



The House Ethics Committee, which has been investigating allegations that Matt Gaetz engaged in sexual misconduct and illicit drug use, was prepared to vote to release a highly critical report about Gaetz on Friday, according to a Republican official familiar with the matter. The release would have come two days after Trump selected Gaetz to be attorney general.
Gaetz abruptly resigned from his House seat late Wednesday, effectively ending the ethics investigation that has hung over his head for years.

So my thinking is that something just isnt right with Trumps pick for Gaetz as AG.....I could be wrong but why would Trump pick a person that has about as much chance of getting confirmed as a snowball in Hell?

Everybody I know is thrilled to death that Trump won...Actually they are jumping for joy...... Rightfully so.....I was even talking to a Democrat Trump hating friend yesterday and he even admitted that the economy is going to be great once again..

I'm not a fan of Gaetz because he likes to showboat, which is obnoxious. I hate it when congress or senate holding a hearing and basically tell off the person they are supposed to be questioning. He also strikes me as a cheesy career politian. I was stunned when Trump picked him.

As for Gaetz's accusations, I thought they were bs. He was dating a woman who was a few months from being 18 years old. Maybe he knew her age and maybe he didn't. But, at 17 she was old enough to make up her own mind. Sex trafficking is a term that is thrown around frivolously at times. She and Gaetz went on a vacation together. I call a big so what on that one.

It may not matter anyway. Susan Collins and Lindsey Graham have come out and said they won't vote for him. It is rumored that there are at least two more Republicans that won't.

Here is what I think happened...And its just my opinion...

I think Trump is playing 3D Chess with the help from DeSantis, Rubio and Gaetz..

If my previous post is correct about the ethics committe coming out with a damaging report about Gaetz Friday (regarding drug use and sex allegations) then there was a good chance Gaetz would get thrown out of the house.....Its like when a lawyer violates professional ethics and the Bar Association strips him of his license...

With Gaetz resigning two days before this report was suppossed to come out it disappears....Trump figured what the hell..I might as well try to get him confirmed as AG...Because DeSantis will appoint another conservative in his place immediately...

The problem for Gaetz and Trump is that it will be next to impossible to get Matt Gaetz confirmed for AG....But Trump gets some real good shock value....Matt Gaetz will probably be done in Washington...And then he can be a full time host on Newsmax. (He is a part time host now)

As for Rubio getting the SOS job, it could be so Trump can keep him on a leash because Rubio will report directly to Trump now..And again DeSantis can appoint another conservative to take Rubios Senate spot..

DeSantis can appoint himself too. Or his wife, or Laura Trump...

So I think that all four of these people (Trump, Gaetz, Rubio and DeSantis) possibly conspired....

It was also interesting listening to Rubios response when questioned about Gaetz being nominated.....Rubios eyes were telling you that he has no chance of being confirmed but his mouth was telling the reporter that Trump can pick anyone he wants...

Anyways, this is my opinion but what the Fuck do I know...

That sounds reasonable. I hope the people Trump is surrounding himself with people who would come up with something like this. Like them or not, DeSantis is smart man and Rubio know the system well. It would be fucking hilarious to watch the libs lose their cookies if this is the plan.

So basically because Gaetz resigned 2 days before this damaging report was to be released the committe has no jurisdiction and cant release it now..

So something is fishy here....

My guess is that Trump did Gaetz a favor (knowing he cant get confirmed) because Gaetz went to bat for Trump a million times..

Does "being investigated" automatically means he guilty?

It has also been floated that he wants to see with GOP members he can trust to support him. Fetterman called it God tier trolling. That is kind of funny if you think about it. We're better off without the games but a little fucking around with the Dems is harmless.

Trump definately knows Gaetz cant get confirmed. So yeah this is some kind of game he is playing...

For the record I am fine with Gaetz being AG....He will go after everybody and everything....Just how in the hell he gets confirmed is the big question...

Trump could get him in there if he uses something called a "Recess Appointment"....Where no confirmation would be required while both houses are on recess....But he would need both houses to agree to go on recess..

Upon further research I found this:

Lets say the Senate GOP members dont want to go on recess (and it has to be at least 10 days)....

There is a loophole that Mike Johnson can use....He can call for a recess even though the Senate does NOT agree....Trump as President can OK Mike Johnsons motion for recess...Therby allowing Trump to ram all his nominations in...Including/Especially Gaetz and probably RFK and Tulsi too...

Btw,

Clinton and GWB installed hundreds of their nominations through Recess Appointments. (Nobody as high in the cabinet as AG though)...

Obama only got about 23 in through the recess appointment clause...But they changed the rule during Obamas Presidency. (Requiring the recess for 10 days)....In fact Obama got sued for one of his recess appointments because the two chambers were NOT on recess for the rquired 10 days..
